Hot Tubs

Sundance &
Nordic.

Two brands, both built for decades of use, both supported by our factory-trained service team. Sundance leans into jet-intensive hydrotherapy across four size-based series; Nordic leans into proven reliability and the DTS therapy system across four trim tiers. Come wet-test either at the showroom.

Nordic Hot Tubs

Four series, one promise.

Nordic makes a tub for every kind of homeowner — four distinct series, each tailored to a different priority. What they all share is the kind of mechanical simplicity, durable construction, and proven hydrotherapy that has put Nordics on the back porches of Four Corners homes for decades.

  • 01
Patented DTS® Dual Therapy SystemNordic's signature whole-body circular-massage jet pattern. Targets full muscle groups instead of isolated pressure points — the feature that's anchored Nordic's reputation for decades.

Questions we hear a lot.

How much clearance and what kind of pad do I need?

Measure the tub's footprint and leave at least 18–24" of clearance on one side for service access, plus room behind for a cover lifter. Full of water and people, a tub runs 3,000–5,000 lbs — so the surface underneath has to handle it: a reinforced deck, a 4" concrete pad, or a properly leveled paver base over compacted gravel.

We'll walk the site with you before you order and confirm the pad, the clearance, and the delivery path through gates and doorways.

What are the electrical requirements — 240V vs. plug-and-play?

Most Sundance and Nordic tubs run on a dedicated 240V GFCI circuit, which a licensed electrician will need to pull from your panel. A few smaller Nordic models plug into a standard 110V outlet, but they heat slower and can't run as many jets at once.

We'll tell you exactly what the tub you're buying needs — and flag it for your electrician — before you take delivery.

How long does delivery and installation take?

Once the tub is on our floor and your pad and electrical are ready, set-to-first-soak is usually one morning. We dolly or crane the tub into place, level it, fill it, start the heater, and walk you through controls and water chemistry before we leave.

Electrical hookup is a separate trade visit — your electrician's schedule usually drives the timeline. Site prep lead times vary: a concrete pour runs 1–2 weeks ahead, a paver base a few days.

What does the first year of ownership cost?

Alongside the tub itself, plan for:

Electrical — typically $1,000–$2,000 for a dedicated 240V GFCI run, depending on panel distance and capacity.
Pad or deck reinforcement — varies widely, often $500–$2,500 for a new concrete pour or deck reinforcement.
Accessories — a premium insulated cover, cover lifter, steps, and starter chemistry kit together run roughly $800–$1,200.

Running costs in a Durango winter typically land around $30–$80 per month on electricity and $15–$30 per month on chemicals and filters, depending on how much you use the tub and your utility rate.

Can I actually run a tub through a Durango winter?

Yes — that's most of what we sell. Both Sundance and Nordic are full-foam insulated and built for cold climates. Sundance's SmartTub® controls include freeze-protect overrides and remote monitoring; Nordic's simpler build is just as cold-hardy.

The two things to get right up here are the cover (never skip a premium insulated cover at altitude) and the electrical feed. We've set tubs at elevation in Silverton, Telluride, and Pagosa — they work year-round.

Sundance or Nordic — how do I choose?

Sundance is jet-intensive hydrotherapy — more jets, more zones, and individualized seat programming. Choose Sundance if you're buying primarily for therapy or recovery, or if you have a big household that wants different seats doing different things at the same time.

Nordic is simpler mechanically — fewer pumps, the DTS directional therapy system, and a lower ongoing cost of ownership. Choose Nordic if you want something reliable, quiet, and easy to live with for a decade-plus.

There's no wrong answer. Come wet-test both — the difference is obvious once you're sitting in each.

What's wet-testing, and do I really need to do it?

Wet-testing means climbing into a full, heated tub on our showroom floor, in a swimsuit, and sitting for fifteen or twenty minutes with the jets running. Seat depth, jet position, and shell geometry fit different bodies differently — a lounge that's perfect for a 5'10" owner can be uncomfortable for someone 5'4".

You don't strictly need to wet-test — plenty of customers buy off photos and specs. But it's free, it takes twenty minutes, and it's the fastest way to know you're picking the right shell.

What does the warranty cover, and who services it?

Both Sundance and Nordic carry manufacturer warranties covering the shell structure (typically 5–10 years), shell surface (typically 5–7 years), and equipment like pumps, heaters, and controls (typically 2–5 years). Exact terms depend on the model — we'll hand you the full warranty document with your paperwork.

Service is us. We're factory-trained on both lines, we file the warranty claim on your behalf, and the repair happens out of our Main Avenue shop — not a subcontractor, not a call center. Most common parts are stocked locally.

Why a Hot Tub

What a regular soak does for you.

  1. 01
Eases sore muscles & stiff jointsWarm water and targeted jets relax tight muscles and loosen stiff joints — many people with arthritis find a regular soak helps with day-to-day comfort.
  2. 02
Helps you wind down for sleepA warm soak an hour or two before bed helps you relax, and as your body cools afterward many people fall asleep more easily.
  3. 03
Lowers everyday stressWarm water, buoyancy, and a few quiet minutes are a simple, reliable way to decompress after a long day.
  4. 04
Gentle on the bodyBuoyancy takes the weight off your joints, so easy stretching and movement feel better in the water than out of it.

These are general wellness benefits, not medical advice. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, check with your doctor before regular hot-tub use.
