Stoves, Inserts & Fireplaces

The heart
of the house.

Wood, gas, and pellet — new builds, inserts into existing fireplaces, and freestanding stoves. We size, vent, and install every unit ourselves, because a fireplace that's installed wrong isn't just disappointing, it's dangerous.

Custom fireplace builds

We do chimneys, mantels, custom fireplace doors, and outdoor firepits, too.

New construction and remodels: we handle framing consultation, chimney and venting, hearth pads, mantle fabrication, and surround stone. Coordinating with your GC is part of the job — you shouldn't have to be the general contractor on your own fireplace.

Brands We Carry

Eighteen manufacturers, one showroom floor.

We don't carry every hearth brand made. We carry the ones that stand behind their warranty, ship parts when you need them, and still look good in your living room ten winters from now.

Frequently Asked

Questions we hear a lot.

Can I install a traditional or plasma TV above a gas fireplace?

You need to check with the manufacturer of your television. We follow the recommendations of the TV manufacturer — heat tolerances vary by model, and the answer is in the fine print. Bring us the make and model and we'll look it up with you.

What type of stoves and fireplaces do you carry?

Wood, gas, pellet, and electric — stoves, inserts, and fireplaces across all four fuels. Eighteen manufacturers on the showroom floor; see the brand wall above for the full lineup.

Do you provide service?

Yes — we service everything we sell. Factory-certified across our hearth lineup via NFI, with parts stocked locally for the most common repairs.

Can you convert a wood stove to gas?

You can't convert a freestanding wood stove to gas. However, you can transform your wood-burning fireplace to either a gas log set or a direct-vent gas insert — we do this regularly. Send us a photo of the fireplace and we'll sketch out options.

How often do you recommend a fireplace tune-up?

All manufacturers recommend a yearly tune-up. For wood units, it's also when we spot creosote buildup before it becomes a chimney fire risk — we don't sweep chimneys ourselves, but we'll flag when one's due and can refer a sweep. For gas units, yearly service catches gasket wear, pilot drift, and venting issues before they become emergencies.

How long does a fireplace tune-up take?

A fireplace tune-up generally takes 45 minutes to one hour. Large fireplaces, or fireplaces that haven't been serviced in a while, may take longer.

Does Smart Enterprises provide plumbing and electrical services?

At this time, no. A licensed plumber will need to hook up your gas line to the gas valve, and a licensed electrician will need to run power to the fireplace. We coordinate the install around their schedules — and if you need a referral, we can point you to trades we've worked with for years.

Can you install a fireplace remote retroactively?

Often, yes — give us your make and model and we'll research the possibilities. Some units are remote-ready out of the box; others need a receiver kit; a few won't accept one at all.

Do you carry venting and parts in stock?

We carry a wide selection of venting and parts in our showroom warehouse, and we have access to most special-order venting and parts through the manufacturer.

Planning a new build or retrofit?

Send us the basics — square footage, fuel preference, photos or a floor plan — and we'll come back with two or three options and honest numbers.
